// KORRA IN THE MORNING//

I’m staying at a hotel tonight cause I went to my cousin’s wedding in a different town. The room has cable. I GET TO WATCH KORRA THE MINUTE IT STARTS. Not hours later on the internet. ON THE TV. AT 10AM CENTRAL.

My cat fell asleep on me while I read Zutara fanfiction.
She keeps pawing at my ears in her sleep. It’s adorable.

I don’t post pictures of my kitties too often, so here’s an appreciation post for my lovelies <3

Yuria and Liara are getting so big!! MAI BABEHES. Yuria likes to swim in the bathtub. Liara likes to get stuck in closets. But I wouldn’t have them any other way.

And as I post this, Yuria knocked over a cup of water all over the table. But I love them so. Even though I had to give her a lecture on the rules of being a kitty and why we don’t get to drink out of cups.

The song that inspired my Makorra pic ‘Collision Course’ :)

I love Adam Lambert’s new cd. ANYONE WITH ME?

Actually, I’ve paired almost all of the new songs with either a Dramione or Makorra video. In my head. I really wish I was better at animation *sigh*

I was just thinking about Mako and this whole love triangle business. I kept thinking…why aren’t you with Korra? Because to me that just seems like the right girl for him. The right balance.

So why doesn’t Mako see that? I think I finally figured out why: need.

Mako has always felt needed….

// Zuko searching fic?//

Does anyone know a good Zuko/Katara fic in which Zuko goes in search of his mom?

Why am I doing this to myself.

Fire. Water. Earth. Air. Fan. Sword.

Yup, this was the way I rolled in AtLA…

This was totally how I rolled. Roll. Am rolling…
BTW, is it just me, or does Zuko not have his scar in this?

therentyoupay asked: Nicole! I didn't know you watch Legend of Korra, too! :D What do you ship?

HOW COULD I NOT?! Korra is the epitome of AWESOME. I’m so addicted it’s unhealthy.

And er…I seem to have a thing for pairing Waterbenders and Firebenders… MAKORRA ALL THE WAY!

(Though I do think Tahorra is cute. Used for making Mako realize he’s an idiot, and I think Tahno could give him a run for his money. But I can’t leave my Makorra ship, I can’t <3)

separation-of-society asked: Hi, i was the one who asked you the question about your artwork earlier. Thanks so much for responding! i just have one more question (for now). Do you sketch on paper first and then later scan it on to your computer? Or is it all digital? Thanks!

Oh, hi!! It kind’ve just depends on what I’m drawing. My art seems to be more ‘fluid’ (if that makes sense) on paper, but pencil lines aren’t the cleanest to color digitally. And there are some things you can do with paper that you just can’t do with a computer. More and more lately I’ve been doing it all digital from start to finish, but it doesn’t always come out like I’d like it to. Pencil looks more natural to me, I guess? I don’t think I’m making sense, lol.

Digital is nice though because you can manipulate it every which way you want, and if you ever plan on having it professionally printed turns out much better. The lines are cleaner too. It really just depends on what kind’ve mood I’m going for.

For instance, I drew my Enervate picture all digitally, where on Avis I did do a pencil sketch first then scanned it in. Sometimes you just gotta hold a pencil, you know? I almost always color digitally now though, I ADORE IT!

As a weird side-note, I’ve noticed if I do it all digitally that sometimes my anatomy gets wonky. I haven’t quite figured out why yet though :S I hope this all helps! And if you have any more questions, feel free to shoot them my way :P

Anonymous asked: Hi, can you please describe what you use and how you create your drawings? They're really good i was hoping i could learn how to do something like that.

OMG thank you!! That’s so nice of you to say!

Haha, that’s a hard question to answer…I guess first off, to make my digital art I use several art programs but I mostly use OpenCanvas, a program developed my Portal Graphics. It’s a lovely program, it’s been my favorite program for years and I’ve yet to find anything that tops it! (It is a Windows/PC only program, however). There is a free version of the program floating around called openCanvas1.1, if you Google it you should find it if you want to give it a shot! I also use Photoshop every once in a while, but mostly for finishing touches like text and effects.

I also use an Intuos 4 graphics tablet, which helps emulate pen and paper somewhat. If you haven’t heard of a tablet before they’re really nice, and you can find some fairly inexpensive brands out there, but I’ve always bought Wacom brands. It doesn’t really improve your art greatly like most people think it does, but makes digital drawing easier. Like drawing with a pen versus a mouse. You can find reviews and how-to’s with tablets on Youtube that can explain it better than I can…

I do think I have several (VERY OLD) tutorials on my deviantArt account. I also have a few process videos of newer drawings I’ve done on my Youtube account, which shows from start to finish most things I’ve done if that would help too.

But basically, everything else takes practice. I couldn’t do digital art for years, so pencil and paper were my friends. And posting on websites like deviantArt helped, because I saw people’s art who were MUCH better than mine (and still do, haha…) and most importantly got critique. I never would have gotten better without it. Sometimes people’s comments were hard to take, but I never would have grown without some helpful pointers from others :) Not to mention I asked other artists for tips and tried pushing myself to be better like them.

Sorry for the extremely long post, but I hope this helps! If you have anymore questions, feel free to shoot them my way! And thanks for the lovely comment again <3
